Susan Hayes, Arizona Genealogist
I have more than 30 years of experience doing genealogical research. I currently work for a contractor on cases for the Army’s Past Conflict Repatriations Branch (PCRB) to find family members of KIA and MIA soldiers from WWII. I have extensive research experience in the New England and Mid-Atlantic areas and am expanding my knowledge of the American Southwest.
I started my genealogy journey during high school after listening to my grandmother tell stories of growing up in a Brooklyn orphanage. I took her stories and spent hours at the Dallas Public Library putting the pieces of our family puzzle together. My passion for research and solving problems has expanded and now I help others find the stories of their families.
I am currently enrolled in the National Institute for Genealogical Studies American Records Certificate program. I earned a Certificate in Genealogical Research (OL23) through Boston University and am an alumnus of the ProGen Study Group 37. Other areas of education include: Salt Lake Institute for Genealogy (SLIG), Genealogical Institute on Federal Records (Gen-Fed), NGS Continuing Genealogical Studies and regional and national conferences.
