Hello world! I have finally decided to jump into the genealogy blogging community. I am currently participating in ProGen Study Group and after analyzing my strengths and weaknesses, I have come to the realization that I need to practice my writing skills. I have always been short and to the point finding it difficult to elaborate and make my family stories come alive. To improve my skills, I decided to put myself out where people can see what I write.
I have been working on my family research on and off for over 30 years. My maternal line is from the New England area: New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. My paternal line is from the south: mainly Georgia and North Carolina. I have done a considerable amount of research on the maternal line, but not so much on my paternal line.
Now that I live in Arizona, I have expanded my research locales to include Mexico, Arizona, California and New Mexico. Although, right now I am no expert in these areas, I have several items on my education plan and I am working with a client whose great-grandfather was born in Mexico. I have jumped into Mexican research with both feet. I am working on my first family story blog and hope to have it published next week.
